Mr. & Mrs. Helma

Sugarloaf Mountain

We arrived at Sugarloaf with the sun (and the humidity level) high. Vicki and her girls were getting ready in a gorgeous suite-we couldn't wait to see Vicki as we knew she would be stunning! Mimosas in hand, music playing in the background & the room filled with perfume and make up powder we found the bride! Our first thing to do was find her dress and all the accessories to photograph!
The mountain combined with the magnificent summer weather made for an ideal backdrop for everything!
Shortly after, it was time to get into the gown! Vicki's makeup and hair looked immaculate- her long beaded braid was a first for us! We loved her look!
When Vicki was ready we head out to explore the grounds for the bridal portraits. Sugarloaf Village made for the perfect location. There were a few flashbacks to their winter engagement photos in some of the same spots!
Her dress was one of our favorites of the year thus far- soft simple fabric with intricate beading on the straps and back. Vicki was giving off a Princess Elsa vibe-and we all know she loves her Disney :)! If we didn't have a ceremony to get to we could have spent hours posing this drop-dead-gorgeous soon to be Mrs.!

The ceremony was filled with compassion, lots of laughing and beautiful words spoken. Surrounded by so many family members and close friends Vicki & James became husband and wife.
(side note: their vows were seriously amazing and we all cried). :)

We absolutely adored capturing portraits of James & Vicki- their playful manner, best friend vibes and the romantic way they stared at each other made our jobs easy! Thank you Vicki & James for sharing some time alone with us while we created a photo story for you. We enjoyed ourselves- and YOU!

We fell in love with the secret paths and bridges along the wooded lines of the slopes...
However, little did we know the best was yet to come! Vicki and James whisked us away to a secret spot - The Outdoor Center a few blocks away. There was an instant feeling of being transported to tranquility.  It was so calm and quiet. There was only nature and the new Mr. and Mrs. Helma. Nestled along a quaint little pond we began photographing the newly married couple. They were clearly immersed in one another-James stared at Vicki with so much admiration and love.
We spent time dancing and twirling along a small path guided by sunlight and enclosed trees- this was a fun time had by all. Turns out tight bridal gowns don't always allow for spinning and fast movements.  ;)
 So many laughs shared!

Once the formal photos were finished, we head back to the mountain side where we would load up on chair lifts to begin the reception! Greeted by their bridal party and guests, James & Vicki could't wait for the festivities to begin! And fun was surely had!

Vicki and James,

We had such a memorable time on Sugarloaf spending such a loving time with you both! Thank you to you and your family for welcoming us and for allowing us the creative freedom to capture your special day. After seeing you both at so many other weddings it was finally your time to be behind our lenses!
We will forever cherish the time spent at the secret portrait location, your incredible vows & Vicki- THAT GOWN!
We wish you the best in your life- keep that playful manner with one another!

Be well & in touch,
Double H Photo
Hannah, Robyn & Tara
